My life before university was kind of dull. I did not know much about the world and my daily routine was just about studying and to make sure I won't fail in the public exams.
I started to explore my inner self and the world when I met AIESEC(it is NOT a person!). In this organisation, I had the chance to volunteer in Romania; organised a debate on animals captivity at my university; attended international conferences in Taiwan and South Korea; led a team to provide a life-changing volunteering experience for over 100 students from my university, and met a lot of amazing people around the world. Throughout the journey, I learnt about social and environmental issues like injustice, income inequality, climate change and more.
The journey of self-exploration didn't end when I graduated. I started an internship at Alibaba in Hangzhou, China and then worked at Apple in Shanghai, China. As Peter Parker has said in Spider-Man, "With great power comes great responsibility". I saw how the two global e-Commerce and tech giants operate. There are pitfalls, but they have the resources to get it through, and they can spend as much as they want for a better world (if they wish to). "What about the others (as the majority of the companies in the world are small and medium-size)? Can they help to leave the world a better place?" With these questions in mind, I started to work for a local consultancy in Hangzhou. China - MSC. Because of this, I exposed myself to the field of corporate sustainability until now.
Outside of work I am a coach at Synet to provide career guidance for recent graduates in China. This website is built to capture my thoughts and remember my lessons learnt. I also enjoyed spending time outdoor, so you might find me hiking, playing tennis or cycling at weekends.
